Responsibility structure for the operation and management of public research funds and the prevention of misconduct in research activities

TIER IV, Inc. ("the Company") hereby establishes and publicly announces its responsibility structure to ensure the proper operation and management of public research funds and the prevention of misconduct, based on guidelines including the "Guidelines for Managing and Auditing Public Research Funds at Research Institutions (Implementation Standards)" established by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).

 

1. Responsibility structure

Chief Executive Officer
 Representative Director and CEO As the Chief Executive Officer, takes overall responsibility for establishing and maintaining the system for managing public research funds.
Chief Administrative Officer
 Executive officer in charge of legal affairs As the Chief Administrative Officer, assists the Chief Executive Officer and holds practical authority and overall responsibility for supervising the operational and administrative system for commissioned research funds and related matters.
Compliance Promotion Officer
 Department manager of  legal and compliance As the Compliance Promotion Officer, holds practical authority and responsibility for operating and managing commissioned research funds and related matters under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer.

 

2. Consultation desk for public research funds

This desk handles inquiries from both within and outside the Company regarding rules, procedures, and related matters concerning the operation and management of public research funds.

3. Whistleblowing contact desk for misuse of public research funds and research misconduct

This hotline exclusively receives reports regarding the misuse of public research funds and misconduct in research activities.

To ensure the protection of whistleblowers, personal information acquired through this channel will not be used for any purpose other than handling the reported matters.
