How was TIER IV founded?

While serving as an associate professor at Nagoya University, Kato developed Autoware, open-source software for autonomous driving, which was publicly released in August 2015. Subsequently, with the vision of making autonomous driving accessible to all and the goal of turning Autoware-based autonomous driving software into a business, TIER IV, Inc. was established in December 2015 in Nakamura Ward, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. In January 2025, the company relocated its headquarters to its current office in Shinagawa, Tokyo, where it continues to operate today.

TIER IV was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market on July 22, 2026.

When are financial results announced?

Our fiscal year ends on September 30 each year, and our full-year financial results are announced in November. For quarterly financial results announcements, please refer to the IR calendar.

 

What is the record date for dividend payments?

The record date for year-end dividends is September 30 each year. If interim dividends are declared, the record date will be March 31 each year.

 

Does TIER IV have a shareholder benefit program?

Currently, we do not offer a shareholder benefit program.

 

What is the number of shares per unit?

100 shares. *The number of shares per unit refers to the minimum number of shares required for trading.

 

How can I change my registered name or address?

When is the annual general meeting of shareholders held?

The annual general meeting of shareholders is held within three months after the end of each fiscal year. Information regarding the date, time, and venue will be sent in early December to shareholders of record as of September 30.

 

How can I exercise my voting rights at the general meeting of shareholders?

A notice of convocation of the general meeting of shareholders and a voting form are sent to shareholders listed in the shareholder register as of the record date (September 30 for the annual general meeting of shareholders). Voting rights can be exercised by one of the following methods:

  • Attending the meeting in person and submitting the voting form
  • Returning the voting form by mail after indicating approval or disapproval
